WPP

As part of its updated business strategy, WPP launched a comprehensive cloud transformation programme to enhance service delivery, improve security and optimise costs across its IT operations in 112 countries. A key element of this programme was the creation of a new internal Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE), replacing a long-standing external partner, to drive consistent cloud adoption and standardised operational practices throughout the organisation.

SmartCo’s Approach

Leveraging our expertise in global cloud transformations for FTSE 100 companies, SmartCo was selected to lead WPP’s cloud strategy review and establish a dedicated programme team. Working alongside WPP’s key strategic partners, SmartCo’s approach focused on building a Cloud CoE, initiating migration pilots, and now driving the execution of global workload migrations to WPP’s strategic cloud platforms.

Delivering value

SmartCo led a global cloud transformation team, driving tailored migration strategies across WPP’s core areas. We designed and mobilised WPP’s Cloud CoE, advancing a unified cloud operating model. Our leadership spanned multiple cloud delivery workstreams, supporting WPP’s multi-cloud platforms and strengthening strategic partnerships for sustained success.
